Military Service	Served in Charterhouse School OTC, promoted to Corporal and gained his Certificate A. 1914 Joined the Inns of Court OTC and was promoted Sergeant. Gazetted Second Lieutenant in 7th Royal Scots Fusiliers in October 1914. The Battalion, part of the 45th Brigade, 15th (Scottish) Division went to France at the beginning of July 1915. The 7th RSF were heavily involved in the Battle of Loos from the start on 25th September until they were relieved late on the night of the 26th.
