This battalion was part of the 21st (Bareilly) Brigade, 7th (Meerut) division and arrived from India in October 1914. On the 25th September the battalion took part in the first day of the Battle of Loos at which poison gas (chlorine) was used by the British for the first time and some men in the battalion were caught by it. | |
